The Club Quarters Hotel ((203) 905-2100) at 111 West Adams is offering our guests the University of Chicago rate of $197+tax.
Be aware that a number of events are happening in Chicago the same weekend, including the National Restuarant Association Show and Anime Central; so you may have an easier time if you can book your accommodations early.
The Blue Line train will take you downtown from O'Hare airport in 50 minutes for $5. (Disembark at Monroe for the Club Quarters Hotel.) From Midway airport, the Orange Line takes about 30 minutes. (Disembark at Quincy/Wells for the hotel.)
App-dependent guests can use Citymapper to track public transit options here.
The University of Chicago campus can be reached from downtown:
Due to safety concerns, we recommend avoiding the Red Line and Green Line for southbound trips.
Rockefeller and the Smart Museum are separated by a walk of 10 minutes (and there will be plenty of time in between for mingling and photos).
Free street parking is available on much of campus; S University Ave between 56th and 59th is conveniently close to both venues. A handful of parking passes for the garage on 55th Street and Ellis (near the reception) will also be available; let us know if you need one!
If there is sufficient interest, we might book a small bus to make a few trips between campus and downtown.
To return to O'Hare airport from campus, a combination of the northbound #6 bus and the Blue Line will do it in just under 2 hours; but a taxi (e.g. (312) 829-4222) is probably faster.
To return to Midway, you can catch a westbound #55 bus on 55th Street—making sure the sign in front says "Midway" and not "St. Louis"—and ride it all the way to the end (about an hour).
